For today’s article, we’re continuing our AI Industry Series. Where in the previous and coming weeks, we’re going to cover how we believe AI could impact a multitude of different industries and professions.

Here’s what we’ll cover today:

  • AI in the Legal Industry

  • AI in the Travel Industry

Legal 🧑‍⚖️ 📖

I know what you’re thinking, “the legal system doesn’t need to be more efficient!” 😆 But believe it or not, AI is finding a foothold in this traditionally manual and arduous industry.

With the advancements in AI, there is a major opportunity to streamline research, content analysis, and document review and significantly reduce the costs and timelines typically associated with hiring legal professionals. Even the lawyers should be happy about this!

Below are some of the top AI use cases being introduced into the legal field.

Legal Research:

  • Predictive analysis in case outcomes - Imagine using AI algorithms to analyze legal data from previous cases to predict the likelihood of success or failure in a new case. This would empower lawyers and their clients to make more informed decisions around strategies, settlement options, and resource planning.

  • Document and contract review and analysis - let AI dig through your briefs (legal briefs), contracts, pleadings, etc. to find patterns and themes for more relevant and less error-prone results.

Client Services:

  • Chatbots / virtual assistants - provide 24/7 support for your clients with tools that can answer FAQs, provide updates on legal cases, and offer basic advice.

  • Personalized client recommendations - by analyzing a client’s legal history and case information, AI can provide customized recommendations around risks, available options, and potential outcomes. It could even help with making estimates on billing.

Here are some of the leading tools in the space if you want to get started:

Travel ✈️ 🚆 🚗

Who wouldn’t love a little automation with your travel planning? Breaking free from your normal routine is hard enough, but with AI, there are becoming more ways to make that long desired trip happen.

Travel booking with an AI assistant

  • Need personalized assistance and 24/7 access? AI chatbots are taking over the first wave of advancements within travel. Companies like Hilton, for example, are already getting into the game by giving you a number for Connie, its robot, to serve up suggestions based on your known preferences.

  • Have some consistent routes or schedules you take for work or fun? In the not so distance future, we could see AI getting to know your needs, and even manage your entire travel planning for you. For now, that sounds a little far out there, but with companies like Expedia, Booking.com, and Airbnb doubling down on their AI experiences, we’ll be interested to see what cool features are on the horizon.

If you have a trip in the works, here’s a list of tools to test out for now!

Final Thoughts:

Whether you’re in the legal profession, or just looking to get outta dodge for a couple of days, AI is at your disposal to help take some of the work off your plate. As always, be safe on the internet, and always double-check the sources and security of the tools you’re using.

More than a spell checker

Many of you have probably heard of Grammarly, but if you aren’t already using it, you should be. Even the free version is great, and it helps everything from writing emails, social media posts, and even this newsletter! It’s an extra simple tool that’s powered by AI.

The app uses machine learning to scan text for spelling mistakes, punctuation errors, and grammatical quirks. It also offers AI-based sentiment analysis, which is a fancy way of saying that Grammarly can “understand” emotions and help you adjust the tone of your writing.
